We work exclusively on the basis of the latest version of the German Freight Forwarders’ Standard Terms and Conditions (ADSp). Clause 23 limits statutory liability for damage to goods under section 431 of the German Commercial Code (HGB), while goods are in a freight forwarder’s custody, to EUR 5/kg; for multimodal transport including carriage by sea, to 2 SDR/kg; and additionally per claim or event to EUR 1 million or EUR 2 million respectively, or 2 SDR/kg, whichever amount is higher.
